Among the safety features, this model incorporates a built-in engine-stop that immediately shuts off the engine if the control handles accidentally slip from the user's hands. In addition to the engine-stop, further safety measures include the ability to disengage the clutch when starting the engine, and a lever that prevents the lower output shaft of the rotary tiller from disengaging if reverse gear is engaged.
